Sponsorships and donations: how you can help
In order to continue and develop our work in Uganda, we depend on help. By making a donation or taking on a sponsorship, you can support us and improve life for many people in Africa.
Patenschaften:
Support a child in Uganda!
By taking over a sponsorship, you enable Ugandan children from difficult and very poor family backgrounds to access education by attending the Mission Destiny School in Mubende.
Give a future
A sponsorship gives children in need hope and the prospect of a viable future. This is why Mission UP supports the Mission Destiny School in Mubende, Uganda, which was founded in 2017. Its main goal is to spread the Gospel. About half of the students are supported partially or fully with free schooling, meals, accommodation and healthcare. In order to continue this work, a sponsorship programme was launched in 2021. With 30 euros a month, you can make a significant contribution to improving the life of a young person and showing them the love of Jesus through practical charity.

Selection
Students are selected by local pastors. They know the families, the circumstances and where the need is greatest.
Local support
Our association forwards the monthly donation to the local aid organisation Mission Destiny. The organisation provides school uniforms, shoes, medical care, educational materials and promotes further development of the environment with regard to buildings, teachers and the school office.
Mail/letters
You can write emails or letters in English or German to your sponsored child at any time. English is the official language in Uganda. The children are very happy to receive a letter – but there is no obligation for the sponsor. If you would like to send a handwritten letter, you are also welcome to send a scan to: info@missionup.de.
For the protection of the child, we ask that any mail and correspondence goes through Mission UP. We also ask sponsors to not give their telephone number or address. Sponsored children are not encouraged to directly ask their sponsor for any financial support outside of Mission UP’s activities. Please inform Mission UP if this does happen after all.

Prayer
Mission UP supports Christian schools where the love of God and the Gospel are explained. We always encourage prayer requests from the child to the sponsor through correspondence.
Visit
A visit to the sponsored child is possible by prior arrangement, please make sure to get in touch three months in advance.
School results
The status and development of the sponsored child’s school performance can be enquired about through Mission UP.
Birthdays
Not every child knows his or her birthday, nevertheless gifts can be sent to the post office in Mubende. The address is Mission Destiny School, P.O Box 359 Mubende, Uganda. However, as the nearest post office is very far away, it is better to send a sum of money. The association can then check what the sponsored child needs most urgently.
Bank transfer
We recommend using traditional bank transfer. PayPal is also possible, but it costs us fees that we would like to use elsewhere.

Duration
We recommend a minimum duration of one year. A certain stability in an uncertain environment is very valuable for a child. Nevertheless, the sponsorship can, of course, be terminated at any time.
Donation receipt
To enable us to create a donation receipt, please state the child’s first name and your own address when making the transfer. The receipt will be issued annually.
