Volunteering: join Mission UP!
Would you like to support our work in Uganda for a while? Then apply with us as a volunteer. There are various opportunities for you to get involved as a volunteer with Mission UP.
Volunteers needed to work at the school
We are looking for volunteers to work at Mission Destiny School in Mubende or other schools in Uganda from autumn 2022. The volunteer assignment runs for five months, starting twice a year.

Areas of work:
Supporting the teachers in class in the nursery, the primary school, the secondary school and with recreational activities
Children’s afternoons with spiritual impulses
Requirements:
Completed vocational training or a completed degree in the area of education (educator, social work, pedagogy, teaching profession, etc.)
Minimum age of 25 years and a living relationship with Jesus Christ. A stable lifestyle is indispensable when working with children and young people. You will be a very important role model for the children and youths.

Openness to another country and culture and willingness to engage and to
adapt
Completion of the introductory seminar: preparation for the country, its culture and traditions. Information on educational behaviour in Uganda. Finding prayer partners, spiritual input and exercises for dealing with challenging situations. Getting to know each other.
Costs:
You will need to arrange for the journey to the airport in Uganda/Entebbe yourself.
From Kampala we have a transport service. Mission UP Uganda provides (basic) accommodation at the school and simple local food (rice, vegetables, potatoes).
You will have to cover the following costs:
EUR 100 for transport to and from the airport
EUR 300 organisation fee
EUR 10 per day for accommodation and local food (If desired, a hotel can be booked, about 30 minutes away. Costs excluding food approx. EUR 35 per day)

Volunteers wanted for project work
We are looking for volunteers to work on our projects in Uganda from autumn 2022. These are mainly short assignments of 2 to 12 weeks. Apply now – we are looking forward to meeting you!
Areas of work:
Supporting the project leaders on site, for example in the areas of construction, gardening, medical care or handicrafts
Requirements:
Completed vocational training
Minimum age of 25 years and preferably connection to a Christian community
Openness to learn and to work with people of other cultures
Openness to another country and culture and willingness to engage
and to adapt
