Visit from Uganda to Calvary Chapel Düsseldorf with Mission UP
In September, Mission Up was invited to Calvary Chapel Düsseldorf to present our work in Uganda. It was a valuable opportunity to give the congregation an insight into our projects – especially the sponsorships and the development of the Mission Destiny School in Mubende.
A particular highlight of the lecture was the contribution by Yonah Ariho, founder and headmaster of Mission Destiny School. He gave an impressive account of his own childhood, which was marked by deprivation and rejection, and explained what motivated him to set up a school in the middle of the countryside.
Today, more than 250 children receive free schooling there—a living testimony to what faith, dedication, and perseverance can achieve.
In addition to reporting on our projects, one thing was particularly important to us: encouraging the congregation to become active in their own communities. We wanted to remind them that every person has received special gifts from God—gifts that we can use to serve others and spread hope.
We were delighted by the friendly atmosphere and warm welcome at Calvary Chapel. After the presentation, we were able to answer many questions at our small information stand, sell giveaways, and engage in valuable conversations about our projects.
We are grateful to God for opening the doors for Mission Up at Calvary Chapel Düsseldorf. Our heartfelt thanks go to the church leadership team and to everyone who made this special day possible.
